Overview
ThinkMarkets is a forex and CFD broker that's been running since 2010. It suits traders who want a choice of platforms and a wide product list, from forex and gold to thousands of share CFDs. It's regulated in several places: the FCA in the UK, ASIC in Australia, the FSCA in South Africa, plus CySEC and the DFSA, with an offshore entity in Seychelles for international clients.
Accounts and costs
There are three main accounts. Standard starts at $50 with no commission and spreads from 0.4 pips, though reviewers found the average on majors closer to 1.1 pips. ThinkTrader is also commission-free and runs on the ThinkTrader app and TradingView. ThinkZero needs $100 and gives raw spreads from 0.0 pips on forex with a commission per lot. UK clients can open a spread betting account with no minimum. Retail clients under the FCA, ASIC and CySEC are capped at 1:30, while the international entity goes up to 1:500. There's an Islamic account too.
Platforms and markets
ThinkTrader is the in-house platform, with TradingView charts, cloud alerts and a scanner. You can also trade on MT4, MT5 or TradingView directly. Which platform you get depends on the account: Standard and ThinkZero use MT4 and MT5, ThinkTrader uses its own app and TradingView. MT5 carries around 1,800 instruments against 350 on MT4, and the full range reaches about 4,000 across forex, indices, commodities, shares, ETFs and crypto.
Money in and out
Funding options are wide: bank wire, cards, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay and local methods like UPI or M-Pesa, depending on where you live. ThinkMarkets doesn't charge for standard deposits or withdrawals, but third parties can, and there's a 3% fee on currency conversion. Withdrawals go back to the original source.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
ThinkMarkets scores much better with platform users than on open review sites. A comparison site recorded 4.6 on TradingView from about 2,900 ratings and 3.3 on Trustpilot from about 520 reviews, both in September 2026. Good Money Guide users give 4.9 from about 200. FXVerify sits at 3.5 from 36, and Sitejabber has 4 reviews at 1 star. Forex Peace Army hosts a long thread with no score in the bundle. Praise is for the apps and execution. Complaints centre on withdrawals and profits removed after the fact.
What traders like
The apps. Many reviewers praise ThinkTrader and the TradingView connection as easy to use, with quick sign-up.
Execution and spreads. Several Myfxbook and Reddit users report fast fills, little slippage and tight spreads on major pairs.
Support that improves. Some long-time Trustpilot reviewers say communication and client care have got better over the years.
Common complaints
Slow or refused withdrawals. A recurring theme on Forex Peace Army, Trustpilot and WikiFX is withdrawals left pending for days or months, with support saying the case is with the finance team.
Profits taken back. Several traders say the broker reversed gains and closed accounts, citing off-market prices, latency trading or a terms clause, and they dispute the call.
Technical gripes. A few mention platform lag, wide spreads at times, and price feeds that upset some Expert Advisors.
Clone sites. One complaint site describes a fake lookalike domain asking for withdrawal fees. That one was not the real broker.
