Overview

Plus500 is a CFD broker that keeps things deliberately plain: one main account, its own platform and no commissions. It suits newer traders who want a clean app more than a toolbox. The group has entities licensed by the FCA in the UK, CySEC in Cyprus, ASIC in Australia, the DFSA in Dubai and the FSA in Seychelles, and its US arm is a CFTC-registered futures broker and NFA member. The parent company is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Accounts and costs

Most people get the standard CFD account with a $100 minimum deposit. You don't pay commission; the cost sits in the spread, with EUR/USD quoted from around 0.8 pips. Retail leverage in the UK and EU is capped at 1:30, and if you qualify as a professional client you can go up to 1:300. Watch for the inactivity fee and a currency conversion charge of up to 0.7% if you fund in a different currency to your account.

Platforms and markets

There's no MetaTrader or cTrader here. You trade on Plus500's own WebTrader or its mobile apps, which are easy to pick up but don't support bots or copy trading. You'll find 2,800+ CFDs across forex, indices, commodities, shares, ETFs, options and crypto. Guaranteed stop-loss orders are on offer for a wider spread. In the US, Plus500 sells futures instead of CFDs, and those can also be traded through TradingView.

Money in and out

Deposits are free by bank transfer, card, PayPal or Apple Pay. Withdrawals are usually free above each method's minimum, and requests take one to three business days to process. The US futures account opens from $10 but charges 1.75% on withdrawals after the first one each month.

What traders say

Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.

Plus500 gets a split verdict depending on where you look. It holds 4.2 on Trustpilot from about 20,000 reviews, but only 1.56 on Reviews.io from about 600, and Forex Peace Army's page carries a "high level of caution" banner without a score shown in our evidence. Reddit threads lean negative, with the same themes recurring for years: withdrawals held up during account reviews and disputes over spreads and stop-outs.

What traders like

  • Easy platform. Many Trustpilot reviewers call the web and mobile app intuitive and quick to learn.

  • Smooth deposits and withdrawals for most. Long-standing customers often say money goes in and out without trouble, and some report withdrawals landing within a day or two.

  • Fast chat support. Several reviewers praise quick live chat replies.

  • A large, listed company. Some pick it because it is regulated in many countries and listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Common complaints

  • Withdrawals stuck in review. On Forex Peace Army and Reddit, several traders describe withdrawals blocked or delayed for weeks while an account was "under review", often after a profitable run, with support sending canned replies.

  • Document requests and account closures. Some reviewers say repeated verification requests, including for sensitive personal documents, led them to close their account.

  • Spreads and stop-outs. Reddit and Forex Peace Army posts complain about wide or changing spreads, especially on commodities, and stops triggered when the trader felt price never got there.

  • Limits on scalping. Older reviews say profitable short-term traders were restricted without a clear definition of the rule.

Recently

  • September to October 2026: a Trustpilot reviewer says new requests for property documents led them to ask for their account to be closed. Plus500 replied that periodic checks are a legal requirement. A German Reviews.io reviewer reported being locked out of their account for about 68 hours with a position open in early September.
