Overview

Optimus Futures is a futures-only broker based in Boca Raton, Florida, that's been running since 2004. It's an independent introducing broker, which means it handles your account and support while a separate clearing firm, such as Ironbeam, holds your money and clears your trades. That setup suits active futures day traders who care about low commissions, tight day margins and picking their own platform. Optimus Futures, LLC is an NFA member (ID 0481133) and registered with the CFTC, and client funds sit in segregated accounts at the clearing firm.

Accounts and costs

You need $500 to trade Micros and $2,000 for E-minis or standard contracts. Individual, joint, corporate, trust and IRA accounts are all available. Commissions start at $0.25 per side on Micros and $0.75 on E-minis, dropping to as little as $0.05 for heavy traders, with exchange and NFA fees passed through at cost. Day trading margins go as low as $50 on Micros and $500 on E-minis, which is a lot of leverage, so size carefully. Non-US clients pay an extra clearing fee, and CME Level 1 data is free if you place 10 or more trades a month.

Platforms and markets

The house platforms, Optimus Flow, Optimus Web and Optimus Mobile, are free and come with DOM, order flow and market profile tools. You can also trade through TradingView, including its mobile app, plus Sierra Chart, MT5, R Trader Pro, MultiCharts and more than a dozen others. Markets cover futures and options on futures across CME Group exchanges and international venues such as Eurex and ICE.

Money in and out

Funding is by bank wire or ACH, with no cards or e-wallets. ACH withdrawals are free for US clients, but wires cost $40 domestic and $60 international, which is steep.

What traders say

Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.

Optimus Futures is a small futures introducing broker with a small but mostly positive review base. It holds a 4-star rating on Trustpilot from about 200 reviews. TradingView and Forex Peace Army carry further trader reviews, and Reddit's futures communities discuss it alongside AMP and EdgeClear. Nearly every positive review is about support; the negative ones are about support too, and about getting money out.

What traders like

  • Human support. Trustpilot and TradingView reviewers repeatedly name individual staff and say they reached a knowledgeable person on the phone quickly, which many contrast with other futures brokers.

  • TradingView and platform choice. Several reviewers value the TradingView connection and the free Optimus Flow platform with order flow tools.

  • Low day-trading margins. Reddit and TradingView users mention low intraday margins on micros and E-minis, and some see the broker's caution about margin on small accounts as a plus.

  • Good for beginners. One Reddit comparison calls it a solid first futures broker.

Common complaints

  • Withdrawals are clunky. A Reddit user says withdrawals were wire or check only with no easy ACH, and a few Trustpilot reviewers say getting money back took far too long. Review sites list withdrawal fees of $20 to $60.

  • Support that falls short for some. A handful of Trustpilot reviewers describe the worst service they have had, including slow answers when opening an account.

  • TradingView connection glitches. Some TradingView reviewers mention trades not showing and no 24/7 phone line when it happened.

  • Costs for scalpers. A few Reddit users say commissions are not shown in live P&L and that quotes for some setups looked expensive.

Recently

No dated reviews from the last 90 days in our sources. The newest Trustpilot reviews keep the same split, with praise for named support staff alongside a few strongly negative support complaints.
