Overview

FP Markets is an Australian forex and CFD broker that's been around since 2005. It suits cost-conscious day traders, scalpers and people running EAs on MetaTrader or cTrader. The main licences are ASIC in Australia, CySEC in Cyprus and the FSCA in South Africa, with other group entities in Seychelles, Kenya, Mauritius, St. Vincent and, since 2026, the UAE. The entity you sign up with decides your leverage and protections.

Accounts and costs

There are two main accounts, both with a $100 minimum deposit. Standard has no commission and spreads from 1.0 pip. Raw starts at 0.0 pips and charges $3 per lot per side, so $6 a round turn on FX and metals. Islamic swap-free versions of both are available. Australian clients can also open an Iress account for direct market access share trading, with a $1,000 minimum. Leverage reaches 1:500 on the global entities, while EEA and Australian retail clients are held to 1:30 on major FX pairs.

Platforms and markets

You can trade on MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, and the web trader runs on TradingView charts. For copy trading there's Social Trading, Signal Start and MAM/PAMM, plus a VPS and Autochartist. The range is over 10,000 instruments covering forex, shares, indices, commodities, metals, ETFs, bonds and crypto, with direct share trading in some regions. Demo accounts close after 30 days of inactivity.

Money in and out

FP Markets doesn't charge for deposits or for withdrawals on its usual methods, though your bank or e-wallet might. Options include bank wire, cards, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay and local methods like POLi and BPay. Withdrawals go back to an account in your name and usually take about a day, while bank wires can take two to five days.

What traders say

Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.

FP Markets scores well with the largest pool of reviewers: 4.8 on Trustpilot from about 10,300 reviews. Verified TradingView users are cooler at 3.9 from about 2,400 ratings (as recorded by Compare Forex Brokers in September 2026), and a handful of Sitejabber reviews average 1.7, though that page is small and partly filled with fund-recovery spam. Forex Peace Army and Myfxbook carry long review threads without a score in our evidence. Praise is about cost and support; the serious complaints are about profits removed after the broker flagged abusive trading.

What traders like

  • Low spreads and fast execution. The most repeated point across Trustpilot, Myfxbook, TradingView and Reddit, with scalpers and EA users among the fans.

  • Helpful live chat. Many Trustpilot reviews name individual support agents who sorted a problem quickly.

  • Smooth deposits and withdrawals. Plenty of reviewers say money moves within minutes or hours.

  • Platform range. MetaTrader, cTrader and TradingView access all come up, along with copy trading.

Common complaints

  • Profits cancelled after abusive trading reviews. Several Forex Peace Army and TradingView posters say accounts were paused, profits removed and accounts closed over trading the broker deemed abusive, in some cases after support had said the strategy was allowed. Some say they took this to AFCA.

  • Blocked withdrawals. A few say a withdrawal request was refused or the account locked soon after asking for their money.

  • Spreads widening. Some TradingView reviewers say spreads blew out at the wrong moment and hit their stops.

  • Repeated document requests. Trustpilot's own summary notes complaints about communication delays and being asked for the same information more than once.

  • Review requests. One former client, quoted by 55brokers, says support asked for a Trustpilot review after every contact.

Recently

No dated trader reports from the last 90 days stand out in our evidence. Trustpilot's current summary still describes mostly positive service reviews alongside complaints about slow, repetitive support steps.
